DISTANCE FROM EARTH
The black hole captured by the EVENT HORIZON TELESCOPE is 300 million trillion miles away from our planet (300,000,000,000,000,000,000 miles) well capturing something that far is something too big to even imagine.Found in the M87 galaxy by yje Prof HEINO FALCKE of Radboud University in the Netherlands.
SIZE OF BLACK HOLE
This black hole captured has the size 6.5 billion times that of a sun, roughly you can say this black hole is as big as our entire solar system, as called it the heavyweight champion of black holes in the Universe.
RING OF FIRE AROUND THE BLACK HOLE
As told by the Scientists the dark hole is the dense region from where nothing can escape and and time stops in that region.The image shows the bright ring of fire which is so bright that it can be seen from such a distance and the light is brighter that the all the billion stars combined in the whole galaxy itself, that is why it can be seen from such a distance.
Not even light can escape from this massive hole is because of the such high gravitational pull not going further into the details.
TOOK MORE THAN 100’S OF HARD DRIVES TO STORE DATA
Well it took 2 years to capture that image so you can image the amount of storage and data that took to store that kind of massive imformation , well the size of the information to capture such image is 5 PETABYTES (5000 terabytes of data), to store such data there were various facilities across various regions of the world.
The imformation was so large that hardrives have to be manually operated which were then flown to centres across Boston, US, bonn, Germany, to assemble the information.
COMPARING THE BACK HOLE CAPTURED TO REAL LIFE EXAMPLES
Imagine a golf ball in Los Angeles and the dots on the Golf ball has to be counted and you are standing in NEW YORK, or an orange on the moon , well imagine the amount of effort that have to made to capture these two real life examples which is why this took so long and a team of 200 Scientists from all over the world to capture an Image of Black hole.
