KATIE BOWMAN- SCIENTIST MIT GRADUATE WHO MADE THE ALGORITHM THAT HELPED CAPTURE FIRST EVER BLACK HOLE

With a team of 200 Scientists and 2 years of non stop effort including Katie Bowman MIT graduate who’s algorithm made all of this possible.As we all must have seen the movie Interstellar although the picture of the black hole in it looks pretty similar as assumptions of how a black hole might look like were only made until now. As we have the image a real black hole.

Well all thanks to Katie Bowman MIT graduate and a phd, without her algorithm the raw data that was collected could not have been processed and further made to produce a particular image of that of a black hole.

As with her on going or could be complete research on computers that lets them see through images and videos.

HOW HER ALGORITHM HELPED CRACK BLACK HOLE IMAGE

As told by her in the TED talk she mentioned how Scientists had to turn the whole earth into a giant telescope or mirror disco ball as the earth rotates the mirrors or telescopes also rotates changing their locations and giving different image from different location of the earth every time.

Although it will be a blunder too because there will be infinite number of images captured by these telescopes every time with infinite possibilities.

With her Algorithm the most common re forming and most probable and reasonable image was able to be processed which also fits the Telescopic measurements.As first the most reasonable images are ranked and then chosen which are most probable and most likely.

Imagine as the Scientists collect 100’s of images and breaking them into pieces and them making a single image with pieces from all the 100 puzzles but taking the most common occurring pieces and combining to reconstruct the most probable and reasonable image.
